Three big artists are ready to get the party started at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Adele, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown have all been announced as performers at the show, airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles next month.
This will mark the first time that Adele has graced the VMAs stage. The British chanteuse is up for seven nods for her emotional "Rolling in the Deep" video, including Best Female Artist, Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Editing and the night's big prize, Video of the Year.
Brown will return to the stage, after making his unforgettable VMA debut back in 2007. His eye-popping video for "Look at Me Now," which features Wayne and Busta Rhymes, is up for multiple Moonmen at the big show, including Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration.
"I am excited about my nominations and to be back on the VMA stage," Brown said in a statement. "I have a special performance planned for my wonderful fans."
Wayne himself is also slated to take the stage. He's got some big nominations up for grabs at the show including best Hip-Hop Video for his "6 Foot, 7 Foot" clip.
"Being a nominee and performer on the VMAs once again is an honor because everyone doesn't get that opportunity," Wayne said in a statement. The event coincides with the August 29 release of his upcoming album. "Looking forward to performing on the show, and having Tha Carter IV drop the same week!"
The night is shaping up to be quite the gathering, with stars like Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Pitbull up for Moonmen at the show. Perry leads the pack with an unprecedented four videos earning a total of nine nominations, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.

Ashton Kutcher is fitting in just fine on the set of Two and a Half Men, as Charlie Sheen's replacement has taken his rightful place behind the show's familiar microphone. Fans of the show will recognize the set up of the new promotional poster, as Kutcher joins costars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones in front of the red curtain used in the original opening.
The biggest difference (besides the lack of Sheen and the addition of Kutcher)? Ashton moved into the middle spot where Jones used to stand, and the Men newcomer is sporting the red bowtie that once also belonged to his younger costar.
The revamped version of the CBS show premieres on Sept. 19, as the fate of Sheen's character has yet to be revealed. Recent reports speculate that he may be killed off. The details behind the appearance of Kutcher's character are also being kept under wraps.
Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men, in March after a pretty public battle with the show's creator Chuck Lorre, and a bunch of questionable incidents that had plenty of people raising their eyebrows at Sheen's behavior. Sheen has now signed on to star in the new series Anger Management.
"I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," Sheen said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. "It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth."

'They are so comfortable with each other,' director says of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

"Twilight" fans gearing up for the franchise's last two films already have the cast and crew's word that the much-discussed wedding and birth scenes will be everything they've imagined since reading Stephenie Meyer's "Breaking Dawn." But what about porting the book's passionate sex scene from page to screen?
When MTV News caught up with director Bill Condon at Comic-Con, he was happy to report that shooting in Brazil was a breeze. "It was kind of fun!" he told us. Apparently Stewart and Pattinson's electric onscreen chemistry was enough to diffuse any and all off-screen awkwardness among cast and crew.
"They are so comfortable with each other," Condon said. "They made the whole thing ... it was kind of fun. Those things are always a little strange. They get to be weirdly technical at certain points."
Stewart and Pattinson's realistic closeness comes as no surprise, given that rumors about their real-life relationship have been circulating since the initial "Twilight" film hit theaters in 2008.
"They managed to put all that aside and turn it into something. That's a very real moment," he noted.
For his part, Pattinson told fans at Comic-Con that there were some not-so-romantic moments during the shoot in Brazil.
"Brazil was amazing," Pattinson said. "It was really amazing the day we got there, and really beautiful and warm and everything you'd expect. Then it suddenly, for the remainder of the shoot, was not only raining but like hurricane storms. ... It was kind of like having a honeymoon in England. We were playing board games instead of, like, making love on the beach."

Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have gotten very close in the past three years, but there are still some things he's kept from her: like the time he bit a baby! In an interview at Comic-Con, Pattinson recalls a hilariously inappropriate photo-op that he did at a fan's request. And Stewart's horrified reaction is priceless. Watch below!
"I didn't really understand the reality of the situation at this point, that anybody would actually see this picture," Rob admits. "So there's a picture somewhere on the Internet of me biting this baby."
"You bit the baby?" exclaims Kristen. "That's so weird."
After trying to sheepishly justify his action ("I didn't actually touch it!"), Pattinson cracks a joke to further provoke Stewart. "It's kind of a funny picture. The baby is so young, its entire head fits in my mouth," Pattinson deadpans, getting a laugh from his costar/girlfriend.
Now that filming has wrapped on Breaking Dawn (which will be released as two films), Pattinson and Stewart are embarking upon their post-Twilight film careers. Stewart will star in a film adaptation of Jack Kerouac's novel On the Road, and will play a sword-fighting Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman. (Pictures from Snow White were released at Comic-Con, showing an armor-clad Stewart -- not your average fairy-tale heroine!) As for Pattinson, he'll be appearing next in the period piece Bel Ami, as an amoral cad who climbs the social ladder by seducing powerful men's wives. And he's sporting that weird half-shaved hairdo for the recently wrapped David Cronenberg thriller Cosmopolis, just in case he needs to do some re-shoots.
Although it's exciting to see Robsten move on to new roles, it's bittersweet to see them alongside new leading men (like On the Road's Garrett Hedlund) and ladies (like Bel Ami's Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman). Even a 90-second video clip shows what amazing chemistry Stewart and Pattinson have together -- and we hope it continues in real life, long after their vampire days are over.Source: http://www.ivillage.com/robert-pattinson-kristen-stewart-baby-biting-story/1-a-368351
