'Haley has talent, but I think there is a limited audience for a blues singer,' 'Idol' watcher Vicky writes.

It was clear that Haley Reinhart was disappointed by Thursday night's result on "American Idol," which sent her home after one of the strongest runs in the show's 10-season history.
But just as her seesaw journey on the show went from visiting the bottom three four times to coming within spitting distance of next week's finale, her exit elicited very mixed, often opposing reactions from the dozens of readers who posted comments on the MTV News website.
"Haley has talent, but I think there is a limited audience for a blues singer," wrote Vicky, who was looking forward to next week's showdown between the two country teens, Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery. But Camara was just not having it, keyboard howling, "nnnnnnnnnnooooooooo," even as Angel lamented that the second spot should have been reserved for Reinhart, because "Lauren is good but she doesn't have the range Haley has."
Some complained about the "popularity contest" aspect of the show or thought Reinhart shouldn't have gotten as far as she did, saying she was never as good as she thought or as talented as the other finalists, while Lorri vehemently disagreed, saying the finale should have pitted Haley against James Durbin. "Haley and James are the most talented and original singers in the competition," she opined. "What a shame that the most talented and original singers were eliminated."
Dee took issue with what some saw as Reinhart's not-so-gracious reaction to the bad news on Thursday, calling the singer's obvious disappointment at elimination "rude, inconsiderate and verrrry ugly."
Many just said they were done with the show, angry that a talent like Reinhart didn't make the cut, incensed that people were dissing Reinhart for what they perceived as her haughty attitude (instead of focusing on her singing), adamant that the voting system needs an overhaul and, like Michele, even madder at America for getting it "so so wrong."
Alex agreed and lamented that "as usual" the most talented singer was sent home. "She was not boring like the other two and she was just such a better performer," he said. "Now I will not watch the finale because it will be sooooooooo boring with the two country singers because that's all they can sing. Haley could sing anything and sing it well. She will become more famous then the other two anyways."
What do you think of Haley's ouster from 'Idol'? Let us know in the comments.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans, rejoice! Your girl Sarah Michelle Gellar is back on television after taking a hiatus to spend time being a mommy.
"Buffy was all-encompassing; it was my life and you really need to take a break from that. But then I realized I missed the familial atmosphere," Gellar explained to Extra, about why she's doing a TV show again. "And now having a small child, I have the best of both worlds."
In 2009, Gellar and hubby Freddie Prinze, Jr. welcomed daughter Charlotte Grace.
Now, the 34-year-old actress returns in a new CW drama called Ringer, in which she plays a young woman on the run from the mob. But the new series puts plenty on Gellar's plate, as she's doing double-duty as the main character -- and her twin sister!
So, how is she handling the new challenges of being a working mother? Gellar says she's mastered the art of multi-tasking.
"Don't forget, I'm playing two characters and I'm the executive producer!" she says. "You men think if we are texting on our BlackBerrys, we can't hear you. But we can."

Is Oprah a Scientologist? Just Googling that question returns 127,000 results, so we know we're not alone in asking.
On the heels of the announcement that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith would be guests on one of Oprah's final shows, three things popped into my head: 1) random! 2) are they getting a reality series on OWN? and 3) man, she's shared a lot of big, memorable moments with famous (alleged) Scientologists.
I mean, I've been convinced for months now that Oprah's last show would be a tribute to her loyal viewers. (That's thanks in large part to mainlining marathons of OWN's 'Oprah Behind the Scenes,' on which Oprah is always saying it's "for the fans.") A walk down memory lane, a parting gift, in the spiritual sense, reminding them to pay it forward ... not another chat with some fancy Hollywood A-listers! Read more…

Nabbed to host the automotive brand's latest launch event, Vanessa Minnillo was front and center for Range Rover Evoque Live in New York City on Saturday (May 21).
The global interactive music event was held as part of the Pulse of the City Campaign to launch the all-new 2012 Range Rover Evoque at Winter Garden.
With Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter Cee Lo Green performing, Miss Minnillo tweeted ahead of the Big Apple promotional shindig, "HELLO NEW YORK! What a Beautiful Day for a concert! Range Rover Evoque Live!!! Come down to Winter Garden! @CeeLoGreen is performing."
Aside from her arduous work efforts, Vanessa is in the midst of wedding planning with fiance Nick Lachey - who recently tweeted about the pricey nature of tying the knot.
Lachey opined, "I think the one thing not affected by the recession is the wedding business!! Damn, this is getting expensive. Good thing she's worth it."

Justin Bieber knows what women want. Especially because, more often than not, the answer is simple: him.
But now the 17-year old who has already come out with his own line of nail polish has announced he'll release a perfume because, let's face it...
"The way a girl smells is very important to a guy," he told Women's Wear Daily. "I have such a deep connection with my fans, so creating a fragrance that I personally love is another way I can bring them closer to my world."
And, really, is there any place a girl would rather be?
The scent will be titled "Someday," retail for $35, be available in June and, because Justin Bieber is rather awesome, all proceeds will benefit charity.
